The TG-12x4 machine can be equipped as an infeed or thrufeed machine. It has a 4 inch (101mm) wide grinding wheel, single point diamond dressing capabilities, and the ability to hold micron tolerances. The heavy duty construction on the 4 inch model adds to greater machine stability. The TG-12x4 is a highly versatile machine with the ability to grind multiple step diameter parts.The RMG 12x4 can grind many different parts such as the ones below. Automatic loading or Hi-Accuracy systems can be added for greater versatility.


Hi-Accuracy TG-12x4 Centerless Grinders

The machine's design is based on our standard grinder line with some very notable exceptions. The machine bed has been enlarged to add to the stability of the system and accommodate the new ram swiveling feature. The ram now swivels on a pivot under the ram, moving the entire lower ram and dresser assembly together. This is an advantage during Thrufeed grinding the guides do not have to be readjusted when you swivel. Also, a digital indicator gauges the swivel and an easily accessed handle makes the adjustment. We have also added a servo drive regulating wheel system. The electrical system is easily accessed by way of a JIC electrical enclosure mounted in a space saving position over the coolant tank.

The accuracy of the system was tested on customer applications and the results were impressive. We were able to achieve roundness to less than 10 millionths, and straightness to less than 10 millionths. We are able to make size compensations with this system in 10 millionths of an inch. The positioning system consists of a servo driven ball screw unit and the system's movements are verified with a glass scale with 4 millionths resolution.

The operator interface is an operator friendly 15" touch screen. This PC driven unit is easily navigated and learned with pictorial buttons for easy identification.

Post process gauging and auto feeding systems can be integrated into the system, as well as specially designed grinding systems.


A Quick Glance At the Generation 5.1 System

Royal Masters' Generation 5.1 CNC Guidewire Grinding System redefines the speed and tolerances of your stainless steel, NiTi, and other exotic guidewires. The new "Eyeless Sensing System" makes linear tolerances of +/- .030" easily achievable without sacrificing quick cycle times. The speed of grinding wires, and the accuracy achieved, comes from the position of the wire being updated every .0025" as the wire passes the sensing pixels. Therefore there is no need to react, calculate, or track the wire in-between photoelectric eyes.

Sensing System Highlights

The Generation 5's new sensing system(Patent Pending) is a revolutionary design which uses sensing pixels to track the end of the wire. These pixels, spaced .0025" apart, track the end of the wire. When these are uncovered, the pixels are illuminated by the fiberoptic light source. This in turn will give the machine the exact position of the wire in the sensing bank. As the machine moves according to the wire's recipe, the machine will be updated by a signal back from the sensing system giving the system excellent repeatability.

The sensing system slides along a 12' tee bar (up tp 17'). The position of this sensing system is dictated to the operator by the computer's program and is based on the length of the wire.

A benefit of the Generation 5 system is there are not any limitations to conventional linear tapers. Convex ellipse forms can be ground into the wire. They are programmed through an operator interface screen. It is possible to do these forms because of the constant updating ( every .0025" ) by the sensing system.
