Hi-Accuracy CNC Systems

The machine’s design is based on our stand grinder line with some very notable exceptions. The machine bed has been enlarged to add the stability of the system, and accommodate the new ram swiveling feature. The ram now swivels on a pivot under the ram, moving the entire lower ram and dresser assembly together. This is an advantage during the thrufeed grinding so the guides do not have to be readjusted when you swivel. Also, a digital indicator gauges the swivel and an easily accessed handle makes the adjustment.

We have also added a servo drive regulating wheel system. The electrical system is easily accessed by way of a JIC electrical enclosure mounted in a space saving position over the coolant tank. The accuracy of the system was tested on customer applications and the results were impressive. We were able to achieve roundness to less than 10 millionths and straightness to less than 10 millionths. We are able to make size compensations with this system in 10 millionths of an inch.

The positioning system consists of a servo driven ball screw unit and the system’s movements are verified with a glass scale with 4 millionths resolution. The operator interface is an operator friendly 15" touch screen. This PC driven unit is easily navigated and learned with pictoral buttons for easy identification. Post process gauging and auto feeding systems can be integrated into the system, as well as specially designed grinding systems.

The TG-12x4 Hi-Accuracy Centerless Grinder can be equipped with our NEW CNC Grinding Wheel Dressing System. The system with its 2 axis of linear motion boasts a resolution of .125 microns. The Dresser is mounted on a larger machine bed and base with the re-circulating roller bearing guideways being lubricated by a positive displacement injection oiling system.

The CNC Dresser is capable of dressing either a Vitrified CBN wheel or conventional abrasive grinding wheel. The spindle is uni-directional and servo driven, up to 5000 rpm for the dressing disk. However single point diamond dressing is also capable as standard equipment. A gap eliminator can also be incorporated as optional equipment.

Programming is simple and practical. Using wizards and Excel, the profile can be easily created either at the machine or at your desk-top and delivered over your windows network.
