Guidewire Feeding SystemRoyal Master Grinders offers many different systems for grinding guidewires. Shown here is simple feeding system for one taper guidewires. A 10 second cycle time can be achieved for most single taper wires. This is the Royal Master Grinders Model TG-12x4 with our Servo Cycle Ram Bed system. In its basic form, this machine is an alternative upgrade to the four handle sizing dial for thrufeed grinding or the automatic cycling unit for infeed grinding. The Servo Cycle Grind System is available when we build you a new machine or as a retrofit to an existing machine. The Servo Cycle System is:
Here, we are showing it with features to make it a Gen 2 Wire Profile grinder. The Gen 2 grinder provides you with end of wire sensors for:
We are also demonstrating the automatic load and unload of cut to length wires. The vacuum pick head selects a single wire and delivers it to the staging area. When signaled, it places the wire in the grind level and the wire is expressed horizontally to the grind zone. Sensors positioned along the rail of the grind level signal the Servo Ram Bed Control to move in coordination with the wires position and create the intended wire profile. This can be and end grind shape, a single taper form in the wheels, a long flat taper or even multiple tapers. The advantages of this grind system is the speed with which the wire is loaded and ground. Cycle times can be as fast as 10 seconds including load and unload. This Servo Cycle Grind controller can be networked to your office computer for productivity reporting.
The Royal Master Guidewire feeding system is a new system developed by our engineering team to be fast, easy to use, universal and robust: Our team took our decades worth of experience and designed a new feeding system. This system uses a vacuum to pick up a wire, one at a time. To verify that only one is picked up, a laser sensor measures the wire. The wire will then be placed in an “on deck” station while the current wire is grinding. The new wire will be dumped into the feeder, and quickly expressed into the wheels using the 2” diameter capstain rollers. These rollers will not wear out as quickly as smaller rollers. The wire can be ground using a time based system, or the wire can be retracted from the machine using a photo-eye sensing the back of the wire. When the wire is finished grinding, it will be expressed out fo the machine, and rotated to a recepticle under the feeder. The system can have as many as 10 different sensors to enable the operator to leave it set-up for your various jobs. Then to change over from job to job, simply select the part number from the menu in the color touchscreen controller. The operator interface uses a feature unique to the Royal Master system with the visual input / output screens. This is simply touch the picture on the screen and the machine will make the corresponding move. Feeder Will Work on:
